Ethylene vinyl alcohol
From Plastics Wiki, free encyclopedia
Ethylene vinyl alcohol (EVOH) resin is a random copolymer of ethylene and vinyl alcohol. It is a crystalline polymer which has a molecular structure represented by the following formula:
( CH 2 - CH 2 ) m ( CH 2 - CH ) n
OH
EVOH resins can be co-extruded with many types of polyolefins, polyamides, polystyrene and polyesters. Downstream processing such as thermoforming, vacuum and pressure moulding and printing can be normally done with film or sheet structures containing EVOH resins.
