Carbomers

Carbomers (polymers of acrylic acid) are synthetic polymers used as emulsion stabilizers and thickening agents in cosmetic products.

They may be homopolymers of acrylic acid, crosslinked with an allyl ether pentaerythritol, allyl ether of sucrose, or allyl ether of propylene. [1]
