Anistrophic shrinkage
From Plastics Wiki, free encyclopedia
Anistrophic shrinkage - Shrinkage that is not the same in all directions. Anistrophic shrinkage occurs in filled materials due to the restriction of shrinkage along the fiber length that tends to be in the flow direction. Anistrophic shrinkage also occurs in unfilled polymers relative to direction of flow as compared to across flow.
